Producing wine since 1968, Sovibor is a family-owned company with a solid reputation in the Production of Alentejo Wines - DOC Borba.
The Wine Cellar and its facilities are located in the heart City of Borba, with two main buildings - one known as "Adega do Passo", a very unique building with more than 200 years of History.
SOVIBOR controls and monitors the grape production in about 170 ha of vineyards in Borba, with important percentages of “Old Vineyards”, essential for the creation of differentiating wines, maintaining all the typicality of the Borba sub-region.
Firmly believes in the combination of traditional and modern oenological practices for the creation of distinctive wines
Tradition, Quality and Differentiation are values that we preserve.
Our DOC SOVIBOR wines are produced essentially from the native Alentejo grape varieties and have been perfectly acclimated to this micro climate for many years. In this way we seek to express much of the tradition of Borba wines and the accumulated knowledge of several generations of producers dedicated to this noble art.
We seek to express the entire identity of the Borba sub-region and its old vineyards in a perfect combination with a very peculiar micro-climate where the old vineyards planted in poor shale soils give a unique character to the varieties we work.
In the exception years we chose some of the best grape varieties in the "dryland vineyards" to affirm the full potential and tradition of this magnificent region.

The MAMORÉ brand arose from the need that the oenology team felt to be able to create wines with a different style without ever forgetting the region's identity. Today's knowledge of each plot allows us to choose from the old dryland vineyards planted at over 350m in very poor soils where shale predominates, the best grapes for each of our MAMORÉ.
The peaceful reconciliation of some millenary winemaking arts with modern winemaking creates in itself the differentiation this brand represents in our portfolio and shows that "elegance" and "potency" can coexist peacefully .
Wine with residual “intervention”, by using traditional methods in Alentejo, with more than 2.000 years old, resulting on a genuine profile, on a wine full of character and singularity.
