Caves Primavera SA are the biggest winemaking company in the Region of Bairrada, Portugal!
Caves Primavera has the best Portuguese Sparkling Wines. Our speciality is sparkling wines and we can guarantee, with certainty, that every sparkling wine from our catalogue has superior quality.
Nonetheless, and as it is the case in many companies, we have a star product. In our case it is our best known and best seller - the Primavera Baga Bairrada Bruto Sparkling Wine, a wine with a pale rose colour (sometimes, dependent on the harvest, it can be a little more on the orange side, than the rosé), that stands out due to its creamy texture and fruity taste and aromas.
We like also to point out other sparkling wines, as for example our Primavera Grande Reserva 75 Years Sparkling Wine, a product that was launched as a homage to our founders and is our top priced wine, with a 7 years stage in the cellar, a unique label and a liquor that was specially conceived to enhance the sensations of the wine, through mineral and fruity aromas and taste, good acidity and creamy mousse. Our Primavera Baga Bairrada Extra Bruto Sparkling Wine is the perfect complement to the dish of our region, the famous Leitão à Bairrada (Suckling pig, with crispy skin), due to his acidity and freshness, that help minimize the effects of the fat of the pig, easing digestion and boosting the meaty flavours. The Primavera Bical Bruto Sparkling Wine, which our clients like to call our Champagne, is a golden colour sparkling wine, with fine bubble and with great flavour and aroma complexity that resembles the French champagnes.
We also have in our portfolio wines, brandy’s and liquors. In our dry wines options, we like to highlight our brand of Primavera Special Selection (Red and White), that are wines that went through stage in oak barrels and present highly accentuated mineral notes. The Red Special Selection has firm and fine tannins with a strong red fruits aroma. Our most expensive red wines are a Red Primavera Touriga Nacional Wine, which is a great gold medal in the 2015 harvest in Bairrada, the Red Primavera 75 Years Wine, a classic Bairrada, with 60% of the caste Baga, the queen caste of Bairrada, and is the perfect wine for your home cellar.
In brandy’s we point out our historic Capuchinha, inspired in the “capuchas” that were used by the shepherdesses in the Caramulo Mountain, and has a unique bottle, made in ceramic glass and our top brandy, the Áurea, that has a personalized image and box, was distilled two times from selected wines and aged in French wood oaks of more than 20 years.
One of our commercial successes and one of our most well-known and unique products is a liqueur wine with the name of Church/Mass Wine. It has a brownish, velvety colour, and is very similar to the famous Port Wine, not only in the colour, but also in the aroma and flavour. In order to be able to commercialize this wine, a priest from the region needs to see our harvest in September/October and check if the grapes and production processes are pure, as we can only use a small amount of chemicals to prepare the wine, because it is necessary to protect the sanctity of the grapes – after checking the process the priest gives he green light and the bishop of Aveiro redacts a document that confirms the purity of the wine.

Caves Primavera produces and commercializes high quality sparkling wines in Bairrada, which is our speciality. In our catalogue we have the best-selling Sparkling Wine of our region, the Baga Bairrada Brut Sparkling Wine. We present to our partners quality sparkling wines that have achieved several honours and medals during the past years. Our production makes all types of Bairrada Sparkling Wines, through the traditional method. We also produce and commercialize wines (Bairrada and Dão), Old Brandies and Bag in Box. We have a partnership with a Premium Quinta in Douro, so we can commercialize Douro Wine and Port Wine.
