The Fiuza Winery belongs to one of the most notorious Portuguese noble families. The Family has vineyards and produces wine for more than one century, in two of their estates, located in the center of Portugal.
The family run company started operating in the beginning of the 20th century when Mr. Joaquim Mascarenhas Fiuza and his uncle begun to produce wine on the family estates.
In 1985, Mr. Joaquim Mascarenhas and Peter Bright, an Australian winemaker established in Portugal, decided to make a partnership and create the Fiuza & Bright Company.
Fiuza is known for its innovative thinking and was pioneer in single variety wines in Portugal, a style in which we specialized.
Fiuza makes wines that are food friendly, complex, made from indigenous Portuguese varieties. Our vision is to make wines that embody the essence of the tradition of the Tejo Region but appeal to the modern wine lover.
Our wines try to take advantage of the main characteristics of Portuguese and also some international grapes in such a way that consumers can enjoy the best of each grape.
Fiuza produces its wines with grapes from their own estates, grown in clay-limestone type of soil and harvested by hand and mechanically, ensuring high quality wines.
