Quinta dos Termos is a family owned wine producer.
With the back turned to the Serra da Estrela mountain, south exposure in gentle slopes and protected at the North by the mountain that delimitates it, Quinta dos Termos features a terroir of his own, that marks in an indelible way the wines produced there . The Farm owns a unique micro-climate of poor soils that naturally discipline the most productive varietals, yet corrected with bunches prunning before the midsummer day.
There are cultivated the traditional grape varieties of Beira Interior, such as Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira, Jaen, Rufete, Marufo, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, Alfrocheiro Preto, Baga, Síria and Fonte Cal and a few foreign varietals as Syrah, Petit Verdot, Sangiovese and Riesling.
The winery, certified in Integrated Crop Management, endowed of sophisticated technology, follows the traditional techniques, orientated by respected oenologists in the world of wine.
The ageing is made in French oak barrels (Allier extra fine) or Hungarian (fine), according to the varietals and the wine’s final destination.
After the bottling, the bottles rest lying in piles, during several months, according to the classification pretended for the wines, but always with a minimum of six months.
The result of the excellence of nature, allied to the rigorous analytic control, results in a wine able to charm the most gelid hearts.
