Penedo da Rainha was an important 19th century agricultural house, and according to tradition it owes its name to the historical fact of 1518, Queen Dona Leonor of Austria, sister of Emperor Charles V from Spain to Crato, Where his marriage to King D. Manuel would take place, to have rested in the shadow of a large granite block that is seen near the main house, and which still remains visible today.
The brand "Penedo da Rainha" was created to make known a quality Portuguese product, such as Extra Virgin Olive Oil, from Marvão region, Alto Alentejo, Portugal, produced from traditional olive groves of "Galega" variety.

Soon the company intends to launch a biologic extra virgin olive Oil from "Galega" variety.
Our products are sold in restaurants and specialty stores (gourmets shops), in Portugal and abroad. Our strategy of internationalization is try to sell the products in niches market in the following countries:
