GREEN SEPTEMBER is a family business settled in the Macedo de Cavaleiros municipality, region of Trás-os-Montes, northeast of Portugal.
The idea derives from the pressing need, which was adding value to what this Portuguese region has best to offer.
Since this is an economically disfavored and demographically aged area, the goal of the company is to contradict this paradigm and to create wealth by taking advantage of the natural resources this area offers, and thus contributing to the settlement of the rural population, the preservation of ecosystems and the creation of employment. This will also create social and economic benefits for the whole country.
The company started its activity with the production and trading of nuts, mainly chestnut.
Production of chestnut, and other nuts like almond, walnut, and hazelnut, can find in this area of Portugal the environmental conditions which are most suitable to obtain high quality products.
More recently the company increased its scope of operations to other areas, with special focus on Production Support aspects. In a time when agricultural activities are being left behind, GREEN SEPTEMBER sides with the producers helping and offering complete solutions from project phase until the harvest, with the expectation of improving the production systems by making them profitable and environmentally sustainable.
The company is also focusing on the offer of specialized equipment for agriculture, modules of controlled atmosphere, cold chambers, scales, and more…
