Aquanostra is a Portuguese seafood company, with specialized know-how, which controles the whole production cycle, with its own bivalve hatchery, seafarms and depuration center.


After three years of research, in 2017 Aquanostra began the implementation of the first bivalve hatchery in Portugal as well as its own Oyster Farm, located in the Natural Reserve of the Sado

Products description

At Aquanostra, we supply fresh, live seafood for human consumption from our own production or wildcatch.

 

As we control the whole production cycle, with our own hatchery, farms and depuration center, our products can be provided non-depurated or depurated, meeting the highest international quality and food safety standards.

 

Our production consists mainly in oysters (Crassostrea sp. and Ostrea edulis), but we also supply a wide variety of seafood, such as different species of clams, cockles, razor clams, smooth clams, lobsters, crabs, sea cucumbers and sea urchin.

    • International approach

    Aquanostra´s internationalization strategy is based on exhaustive research and study of potential intra and extra-Community costumers/market, visiting specialized exhibitions around the world and also, visits to these potential leads in order to present our company and products.

    We also have developed special packaging for the oriental markets and make a difference in what the market has to offer. We also dedicate our attention to transport as it is determinant that our product reaches the end-user in excellent freshness conditions using channels that allow us to get further and fresher.

    Furthermore, as a result of this strategy, we have asked the respective authorities to prepare the legal documents to be the first to export bivalves to China hence nobody did it before.
